Reiki is pronounced "Ray - Key". Simply put REI means "Universal" and KI means life force energy that flows through all living things. It is an invitation to wellness.
Reiki is the ancient Japanese hands on technique of promoting well-being by enabling the channeling of life force energy to smoothly flow throughout the body. As an energy-healing system, Reiki works on our well-being at an emotional, spiritual, mental and physical level. If our life-force energy becomes low or blocked it can lead to imbalances which in turn can manifest itself in our physical body as a pain, illness or depression; it is essential that we maintain a balance in our own health and life.
Imagine you are lying, fully dressed on a comfortable treatment table whilst the Reiki practioner places their hands lightly onto or above various parts of your body. Each time they place / move their hands to a different part of your body you feel soothed and a sense of serenity surrounds you. What they are doing is ensuring that your life force energy is 'feeding' your cells and organs and creating a balanced flow of energy throughout your whole being.
Reiki is accessible to anyone, regardless of age or state of health.
